If you want to find out more about Dianetics and Scientology, the best way to do this is to read an L. Ron Hubbard book on the subject. I personally recommend you read Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.
I bought the book from a friend about 20 years ago, and I read trough the whole book rapidly two times in a row. I found the book extremely interesting. I think somebody has called it the “Owners Manual for the mind.” And every person who has a mind (includes most of us, doesn’t it?) should have the book and study it.
The book presents a way of looking at the mind, by dividing it into an analytical mind and a reactive mind. It goes on to explain how the reactive mind is the sole source of irrational behavior and psychosomatic illness. It goes on to explain how to handle and eradicate the reactive mind, freeing the person from the reactive impulses which may dictate his actions and cause psychosomatic illness.
I had some very interesting experiences practicing the procedure on friends. A basic rule is that you will look for earlier similar incidents when the one you are getting the person to look at does not resolve, and in this process it does happen that the person will find something from an earlier life. This is just something that can be expected to happen, and you just go through that incident like any other; no deviation from the procedure. One gets used to such things happening, and will just take it for granted after a while. It is of course extremely interesting when it comes to the question of who we really are as beings separate from our bodies, and ones viewpoints on life and other beings will necessarily be affected by experiences like these.
One will get to see a great many examples of how a person’s past life experiences can have a big impact on his life today, and I have seen numerous examples of this. All of this has made me more aware of Man’s spiritual nature, and it has been a great pleasure seeing others gain insight into their own spiritual nature. This is something a person will get to know by experiencing it, and not by hearing about it.
